Welcome to UK Bus Photos. This website consists many images from across the UK and Europe, from as far North as Edinburgh, to as far South as Austria. Quite a few of the images are from Teesside, as this is our local area, so naturally most images will be from this area.

Photos of vehicles from the Arriva Northeast subsidiary. This includes the former TMS, United, and Tees operations.

 | 23rd Apr 2006 | Arriva Northeast > 16/16A Final Days
As part of the VIVA Tees Valley changes Arriva Northeast are making, Routes 16&16A are being replaced with a new "X6" service.
In this collection, there are some photos from the final days, and also one from 1999, when the Cadets on this route were virtually new.
The 16 & 16A ran from Roseworth, Ragworth, Durham Road, Stockton High Street, Thornaby, Town Centre, Cunningham Drive, Thornaby Road, Barwick Way, Beckfields Avenue, and onward in a loop around Ingleby Barwick via Blair Avenue(16A)/Haresfield Way, Tesco *Then Safeway*, Green lane, Lowfields Avenue and back onto Thornaby Rd return.

Family owned operator Black Velvet operate a variety of services in and around Eastleigh, using a mixture of Olympians and DAF/East Lancs. The odd Dart will appear too, on loan from Mistral.

Blackpool Transport operate the majority of services in and around Blackpool, under the Metro Coastlines brand. Most of the key services have gained route branding, such as the 14 which is Dark Green, however some vehicles are painted into the generic colourscheme, of Yellow & Black. They operate a fleet of Optare Single Deckers, and mainly East Lancs Trident Double deckers, with some step entrance vehicles remaining, such as the Leyland Olympians.

Brighton & Hove are owned by the Go-Ahead group, and operate an extensive network of services across Brighton, Hove and towards Eastbourne using mainly Scania based double deck vehicles, and some smaller vehicles.

 | 31st May 2006 | East Yorkshire Motor Services Group
Photos from the East Yorkshire fleet, and also their Manchester Operations, Finglands. EYMS as there also known, operate the majority of services across North Yorkshire, Hull, and East Riding. From north as Scarborough, to down past the Humber. They are constantly investing in new, and appealing vehicles to increase the fleet age of vehicles, and also the number of low floor vehicles in the fleet.

In this collection can be found photos from Europe, of buses operating on the continent. It currently includes the Austrian "Postbus" and other companies from the towns of Kitzbuhel, Axamer Lizum, and Innsbruck.

Go Northeast operate a variety of services across Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland and Durham, using a variety of modern vehicles, some of which have gained their own unique branding such as "The Angel". Go Northeast is the original Go Ahead company, and was formed out of a variety of companies such as Coastline, which were all merged under the Go Northeast banner.

This collection is full of Miscellaneous photos, from here, there, and everywhere. They are generally vehicles which are non-psv, street furniture, and pairs. It also contains photos of Heratige vehicles, which have been seen whilst out and about.

Leven Valley is a well established independent operator on Teesside, operating a variety of tendered routes, using mainly Optare Solos, with a pair of Enviro 200's. They used to operate a large number of Mercedes Minibuses, however these have been phased out with the introduction of the many Optare Solos, and also the Enviro 200's.

Lothian Buses are the largest operator in Edinburgh, and are still owned by the local council. They operate the majority of services across Edinburgh, including the Park & Ride services, and also the Airport Shuttle. They are constantly investing in new vehicles for the fleet, slowly replacing the final Madder & White Step Entranced vehicles from service. They operate the franchise of Open Top services in Edinburgh, using a variety of vehicles including Open Top Tridents, and Routemasters.

National Express operates a coaching franchise across the UK, where operators operate a National Express service, using coaches in NX colours, on their behalf. National Express also own their own fleet of coaches, for the franchised services. National Express also operate a network of bus services in the West Midlands, under the "Travel West Midlands" banner, which can also be seen within this collection.

Norfolk Green operate a wide network of services across Northern Norfolk, and also some town services in King's Lynn. They operate mainly a fleet of Optare Solos, Excels and Tempos. Some Excel's were acquired from local operator Konectbus, with the Tempos and Solos coming from dealers, and other operators. Norfolk Green also operate the "Coasthopper" service, which is a network of services operating from King's Lynn and Hunstanton to Sheringham, Cromer, and other destinations along the coast.

 | 21st Jun 2009 | Nottingham City Transport
Nottingham City Transport are one of a few remaining council owned operators in the UK, and provide a network of frequent services across the City, using a mixture of vehicles, most of which are Scania Omnicity or Omnidekka vehicles. They do have a number of Omnilinks, which are mainly used on the Park & Ride services, and also the Omni-Town on services to Beeston. In 2008, a batch of Optare Versas was purchased, and operate alongside the existing fleet of Scania vehicles.

 | 29th Jun 2009 | Premiere, Nottingham
Premiere are a local independent around Nottinghamshire, operating a variety of vehicles, some of which are new to the company, and some of which come from other larger companies in the area, such as Nottingham City Transport. The fleet is made up of Optare, Alexander Dennis, and also Wrightbus products, which form the backbone of the operating fleet. They operate a small network of services in and around Nottingham, including "Shoplink" services.

Procters Group is made up of a selection of small companies around North Yorkshire, and operate a variety of Private Hire and also some Stage Carriage work. The livery is generally the same across the group, which makes a Procters Group owned vehicle easily recognisable, although some have yet to be painted. They operate a large amount of Optare Solos, along with Mercedes Minibuses, and also Volvo coaches.

Solent Blue Line, who are now known as Bluestar operate a network of services in and around Southampton and Eastleigh, with services heading up to Winchester, and Hythe. They currently hold the contracts for the Uni-Link Southampton services, which was won from Accord in 2008, and use a fleet of brand new Scania Omnicity vehicles on the services.

Southern Vectis provide the main services across the Isle of Wight, along with the Open Top Tour buses, and Road Trains. They currently operate a fleet of modern Scania and Mercedes vehicles, which replaced the Olympians on the Island, and also Dennis Dart/MPD's which can be found mainly on Route 1 to Cowes.

Stagecoach operate a large number of services across the North East, using mainly MAN, Volvo and Dart chassis vehicles, and also a fleet of Electric buses in Newcastle. Stagecoach Northeast was formerly made up of Transit and Busways, before purchase by Stagecoach. This collection contains photos from Stagecoach in:-
Hartlepool; Newcastle; and Teesside.
Photos of Stagecoach in Darlington, before sale to Arriva can be found in the "Deceased Operations" collection. Photos after the sale, are in the Arriva Northeast collection.

Part of the Blazefield Group, Transdev Harrogate & District operate a network of quality bus services around Harrogate, and into Skipton, Ripon, York, Leeds, and Wetherby. The flagship Route 36 operated by twin deck Wright Geminis operates between Leeds and Ripon via Harrogate. The vehicles on this service are fitted with Leather seats, with Harrogate & District being one of the first companies to use leather seating on a service. They have a varied fleet, most (if not all) of which is low floor.

Transdev Yellow Buses was fully owned by Bournemouth Council, untill a buy-out in 2005 by Transdev. Since their purchase, they have introduced many second hand low floor vehicles, untill September 08 when they purchased a fleet of smart Optare Versa vehicles, followed by Optare Tempos in May 09. TYB operate a network of high frequency services across Bournemouth, with a smaller network of lesser frequent services in the area.

Wellglade Group consists of various operators around Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, the most notiable being Trent Barton. They provide a network of services, with most routes having a dedicated brand, making Trent Barton alot different to other companies in the area. With a constant influx of new vehicles, the fleet is always changing, and being upgraded. The surplus vehicles generally head to other Wellglade companies such as Kinchbus and Notts & Derby, with some vehicles being sold on.

Wightbus are the council's bus services on the Isle of Wight, who operate a network of less frequent services, school services, and also the Ventnor Rail Link. They use a mixture of vehicles, some of which are Dennis Dart's, and others which are Mercedes Mini-buses.

Wilts & Dorset operate the majority of bus services across Wiltshire, Dorset, with some services within Hampshire. They serve towns such as Poole, Bournemouth, Lymington, Ringwood, and also the City of Salisbury. They have a varied fleet, most of which is Optare based, with a fleet of Eclipses and Citaros, some of which are branded for their network of "more" services.

York Pullman is the bus operations side of KJ Logistics, and they operate a small network of services within York, and also a set of open top tours. They help out with the Raceday shuttles, and also have a coaching fleet which is used on Schools, Private Hire and Rail Replacement work.
